aw.... Adam Wainwright!
Delaney, Jerry and I with Delaney's autographed ball.
Delaney and her Uncle Alex
Delaney and her friend Zander We went to four Cardinal Spring Training games and they won every single one! Delaney was great through all of them! She would have a bottle and fall asleep for her afternoon nap for the first five innings then flirt with everyone around us for the last four innings! She loved watching the players during batting practice and warm ups before the games.. she is an action girl! She even got to keep a foul ball that a staff member brought right to her the last game. (we were sitting in the second row) I got to TALK to my favorite player Adam Wainwright. I was wearing a shirt with his name and number on the back and he called over to me "Hey, nice jersey. I think we have the only to in the whole camp, you and me!" I just giggled of course because I was so tickled! We did get his autograph along with, Chris Carpenter, Anthony Reyes and Tony LaRussa on Delaney's little Cardinal ball. On Friday morning Chris Duncan was leaving the Juno Beach Cafe (our fav breakfast place) as we were getting there. Alex was in total shock and was so excited when the waitress told us we were sitting at the table where Duncan had just sat! Alex wanted to order the same thing Duncan ate.. until he found out what is was... so he decided to try another kind of omlett.(it was next to the one Duncan got) We even got to see my friend Andrea and her baby Zander who is just a couple weeks older than Delaney. They were so cute together, they even held hands! The weather for the games was just perfect and it's so neat to see the players warming up and taking batting practice just a few feet away! We had a great time and we're looking forward to going back!
