One Month Old (Correction- 4 weeks Old)

Saturday Delaney will be one month old. Where did August go? It's hard to believe that it's been a whole month since we were blessed with such a precious baby girl! I tried my hand at some photography for a one month photo shoot... I'm no professional... but here is how it turned out. She was surprisingly cooperative and in a good mood most of the time. My poor baby girl is losing the dark hair on the top of her head as blonde hair grows in... so she appears to have on a clown wig or look like an old man..... yikes. We knew this would happen as I was born with black hair and so was Alex.. and we both turned blonde very soon in our first year. Jer and I both have blonde hair... so we guessed Delaney would too....for now...I'll have to keep those bows in her hair! We're headed to the Lake tonight.. first out of town trip... so I couldn't post this tomorrow on her actual one month birthday. Happy One Month Delaney Grace... we love you!

A Nice Cool Walk

This morning we awoke to much cooler temperatures! It wasn't very sunny but I strapped on Delaney's sunhat just in case (It's still a little big) and we headed out for a walk. It was very refreshing as a nice cool breeze was blowing the entire time. Delaney must have been relaxed because she was out like a light before we left our driveway! I love summer.... but it was nice to go out for a walk and not sweat! I'm looking forward to many more of these walks this fall before I have to return to work!

Go Cards!

In honor of the Cardinals moving into 2nd place in the NL Central we "tried" to do a photo shoot with Delaney sporting her Cards gear.. key word being "tried" as she wasn't too cooperative... Guess I'll have to try again another time. Her Cards Onsie says "rookie of the year" and the ball is signed by many Cards players that we got signed at Spring Training last year. Delaney is going to her first game in late September... and hopefully by then the Cards will be in first!

Delaney was all ready to go swimming yesterday! Okay so she didn't really go swimming but I had to do a photo shoot in her swim suit. She was fast asleep so she had no idea what we were doing to her..... I know poor baby... but I couldn't resist! She loves baths so I hope she will love swimming. I just don't know when she can actually get in the pool! Hopefully before mom and dad close the pool for the winter. I may need to join the Y for the winter.... because if anything... this 0-3 month swimming suit won't fit her next summer!

Saturday afternoon we ventured out to the zoo with our friends Matt and Amber and their 2 year old son Hudson. Delaney slept through most of her first zoo experience but she woke up to eat a few times, and she loved going through the River's Edge area because the waterfalls and bug noises sound like her nature sounds on her swing that she loves! I know she couldn't really see anything but we all had fun regardless. Hudson was so excited he galloped from exhibit to exhibit! Too cute. He was also very happt to see "Thomas" (the train) and we had to stop and wave a few times. Hudson is also so sweet to Delaney.. he calls her "Baby Laney" and loves to hug and kiss her. After the zoo Matt and Amber treated me to Birthday Pizza at Imos and then we all went to Ted Drewes! It was an exhausting.. but very fun day! Delaney treated us last night to eating at 8:45 and going to sleep and not waking up until 4:14 am to eat.... and now at 8:00am she is still alseep! (so why am I awake?)

3 Weeks Old

Saturday Delaney Grace will be 3 weeks old! She continues to be a pretty good baby most of the time...however this week she has started getting a little fussy when she eats in the evening. We're working on finding a solution to that. Of course as I type this she is sleeping angelically on her play mat. It has been requested that I update the blog with new pictures so here they are. Even at 3 weeks old.... she still doesn't "do" much so I run out of things to take pictures of! (well her clothes of course!) Enjoy!

Well I'm just trying to get caught up with some new pictures.... I take so many everyday... picking out a few for the blog is hard! Today is my 28th birthday... where has the time gone? I still feel like I'm 23! Mom, Dad and Alex took me out to lunch today... to Pasta House cause it's my favorite! Then tonight Jer took me out to dinner. I had a yummy birthday for sure! I finally got to drink a glass of wine too.. which was very exciting! Jer got me (us) a dvd camcorder so we can record Delaney's every precious moment! What a fun toy that will be as she starts doing new things! Oh and Delaney's umbilical cord stump finally fell off today!!!! School starts tomorrow and I won't be there... which will be kinda weird... but I'm going shopping with my mom for my birthday. I always ask for new school clothes.. but this year.. even though I've lost 30 pounds since having Delaney... I'm still not my normal size yet! Okay I think that is all the updates... TTFN!

Delaney's First Doctor Visit

Today Delaney went to her first doctor apointment. (and of course I had to snap a few pictures) She now weighs 8lbs and 7oz! Way to go gaining those 6oz baby girl! I had a feeling her weight was fine... she eats like crazy! Her height was 20 1/2 she's in the 50% for both height and weight. She was a very good girl waiting for the doctor... but once the doctor started checking her she let the poor doctor hear her vocal cords! Doctor says Delaney is doing great! We won't go back until she's 2 months old... that seems forever from now but I'm sure the time will fly by!

Delaney loves her paci.... she reminds us a little of Maggie Simpson when she really gets going. Sometimes she needs help keeping it in her mouth though. At the end of the video however she has had enough! I guess it's time to go to sleep Delaney!

Play Time

I know Delaney is only 11 days old... but I decided to try out her gymini lights and music play mat. She loved it! Jer was making the animals talk to her and she likes looking at herself in the mirror. This will be a fun toy for months to come!

Sunday we took Delaney to her first social event...Hudson's 2nd birthday party. He had a Thomas party and loved all the Thomas The Train presents he got. He is such a cutie pie! His real birthday is this week and I hope he has a blast! Welove you Hudson and Delaney had fun at your party!

Super Sleeper!

Miss Delaney Grace is amazing us with how well she sleeps at night. Last night she went to sleep around 10:15pm and didn't wake up until 7:15am this morning! When she woke up she was just lying in her bassinet just looking around.. not crying or whining.. so I put her in bed with Jer and I, and she continued to look around content as could be! The above picture is her smiling at Daddy after he fed her this morning. We can only hope her sunny disposition lasts!

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa McCoy

Saturday we got the special treat of having Jerry's mom and dad come visit! Delaney loved her visitors so much she pretty much refused to sleep. She didn't want to miss one minute of her special time with Grandma and Grandpa. We braved going out to lunch and to Babies R Us with them. It was a lot of fun and we were so glad they could come spend time with all of us. Delaney certainly enjoyed it... she got a lot of extra hugs and kisses! We hope they will visit again soon!

Well we finally got to come home yesterday. Six days in the hospital was long enough! Delaney slept the whole way home.....no clue what was going on! Last night we fed her at 8:30 and went to sleep... she woke up at 11:30 to eat and went right back to sleep... then she woke up at 3:30 to eat and again went right back to sleep.... she woke up this morning at 6:30 am to eat. Not too bad for our first night home. I'm okay with getting up to feed her as long as she goes right back to sleep. What an angel baby we have! This morning we gave her her first sponge bath. She didn't even cry! She loved the part where I washed her hair! We are all so happy to be home! Well I'm gonna get a nap in while she is snoozing away!

Yesterday Delaney had her first official photo session. We took a few oursleves while we were waiting for the photographer to come... the hat is too funny cause it is way too big on her! The last pic is of Daddy and Delaney having some father daughter time. We get to go home tomorrow... so more pics to come!

Introducing Delaney Grace

She's finally here! After 2 long days of meds to get labor going... I ended up having to have a c-section because .. to put it easily.. I'm too narrow! Delaney was born at 11:19pm Saturday August 4th. She weighed 8lbs 1oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. She is absolutely precious and Jerry and I couldn't be happier new parents. Thanks for all the well wishes! I will post more pics as I get time!
