Happy Birthday Jer!

Kids enjoying the pool!
Jaci, Lauren and Kat
Anthony, Wes and Delaney
More guests out by the pool
Jer wearing his crazy hat from Mrs. Swenson and Delaney blowing out the candles.
Delaney posing with daddy's cakes... his favorites red velvet and ice cream cake!
Alex was such a good uncle to take Delaney swimming..
and hang out in the hot tub with all the little girls.
Even got a visit from some old college buddies.
It was so good to see everyone!
We pulled of a fun surprise 30th birthday party for Jerry! I think he was actually surprised! I had it almost 2 weeks after his actual birthday so i think he had given up hope that I was doing anythign special for him. We were so greatful to all the friends and family that made it to the party. Jerry had a great time... and so did Delaney! She was a little party animal!

Dance Class

Sassy Pants is ready for class!
I believe they were getting ready to do the position song.
(wish I knew it cause D's been trying to sing it but gets stuck and I can't help any!)
This is the boat, car, airplanbe and helicopter thing... she liked spinning around at the end!
Here they get to pick the color butterfly they want to be and where they want to fly to. Delaney's butterfly was pink of course!
Waiting for class to begin!

Delaney tried the last three weeks of a six week dance session. This is where I really realized that as outgoing as she can be she can get very intimidated in groups of people her own age! The first week she insisted on sitting in my lap most of class. However she must have been paying close attention because she came home and showed off all the skills they had done in class that day! The next week she participated in some of the things and didn't need to sit in my lap but she did want me to be close by. Finally the last week she participated in most of the class group activities but didn't care to do the individual exercises with the teacher when it was her turn. She recalled all the dance terms and continues to demonstrate all the skills at home. I'm thinking dance is going to be something she really enjoys once she gets over her shyness in groups of kids! Trying to decide where to sign her up next year. I'd love to see her in a little recital but we don't need anything too serious! She really wants to dance ON STAGE! Part of her turn off at the first class was that they were not on a stage! She is often finding places that are slightly higher (the fireplace, steps, the porch, the shallow step of the pool, a rock... and call it a stage.. where she will stand and sing a song or do a dance (or both)We shall see what the future brings for our little stage performer!

It's early, but it looks like this baby is a boy!

This is the baby's face... not th ebest scan of the pic... but you can see the eyes, nose and mouth
This is the whole baby... head on the left, the brighter white part by the face is the baby's hand.
Early ultrasounds can be wrong, but this looked pretty "BOY" to all of us! Baby is growing along right on schedule! We will have another ultrasound in a few weeks that will confirm or... deny this scan! In the meantime we are thinking of boys names and how to decorate the nursery... we're thinking baseball! Delaney was excited to see the baby... but when we told her it was a baby brother... she said "great, where's my baby sister?" see... she was pretty sure she was getting a sister. (I remember feeling that way with Alex!) And while I always still wanted a sister, I wouldn't trade my Alex for anything! I'm hoping Delaney will feel the same about her baby brother.. should he stay a he! She's been carrying around the pic of the baby waving to her telling me she's going to help me feed (her) and give (her) a bath.... looks like she's in denial....

First Summer Outing- Botanical Gardens

On my first official day of summer vacation Delaney and I headed out to the Botanical Gardens. The sky was looking iffy but we decided to brave it anyways! Good thing we did cause it turned out to be a prtty great day! We did get rained on but only for about 15 minutes... so we just took cover and ate our lunch! Delaney can be such a ham these days! I love when she "poses" for me! I think this kid had model in her blood! Sometimes her poses are interesting to say the least! Here are some of the better shots I got of her! Also we visitied the Climatron and saw the dinosaur exhibit. She loved looking at her "map" and finding the shapes of the dinosaurs she spotted inside the climatron. She also enjoyed playing on the playground in the Children's Garden! I love that she still gets in there free until she turns 3! We will visit often this summer! Enjoy!

Memorial Day Weekend at the Lake

We had a great time at the lake this past weekend! Delaney enjoyed seeing her Nana, Papa, Aunt TT, Aunt Tammy, Uncle Jason and Baby Bret! After Bret left she kept saying "I want to play with baby Brett!" She loved going on boat rides and playing in her pool! The lake water was too "dirty" and she would only slightly put her feet in! She did enjoy tossing rocks into the lake! We even got to see our friends Carmen and Marty and their cuties Noah and Baby Olivia! We enjoyed great company and good food all weekend! Thanks Nana and Papa for having us!

The Pool is OPEN!

Well swimming in Mimi and General's pool was a way different experience than swim lessons! She doesn't stop smiling and laughing, swims all over the pool with just a noodle and you literally have to DRAG her out when it is time to stop swimming! She doesn't need anybody right near her anymore! She's working up the courage to jump off the side and let us catch her... she still wants to hold our hands! That might be my fault though cause I always used to dunk her when she jumped in! It's going to be a great summer of swimming for us! She can swim for hours... and then naps for hours so it's a win win!

Enjoying Spring

We had a very wet spring around here but we were able to get out and enjoy some nice days! We played outside with bubbles and on the playset, went to the zoo with friends and Delaney took some swimming lessons! She certainly didn't care for swimming lessons! she talked all about it before we would go each week but then she would cry and refuse to try most of the things we all knew she COULD do! The next post will show you what she does swimming not in lessons! Regardless it showed mommy that Delaney needs to be in classes without me and spend more time with other kids her age!
