The left and right song.

Daddy came to watch Delaney at Dancing School!

At the beginning of class we sit in chairs.

Time for the Freeze Dance.... Dance....

Freeze again!

This past month Delaney and I took a Mommy and Me dance class at my old dancing school. It was a lot of fun to watch Delaney learn simple dances and we had a good time. Daddy came to her last class to watch and take some pics and video. It was evident Delaney truly enjoys dancing (and watching herself in the mirror)! I'm thinking we will continue with this class in the fall. I'll let the pics and video tell the rest of the story! Enjoy.. and try to watch Delaney and not me!

Pudding Painting

Adding more pudding with the spoon just like mommy.

Really getting into it now....
"I messy mama" - Delaney
"Well thanks for sharing Delaney!"- Mama
"Look mama, hands messy!"
Let's try some chocolate.

"yummy"
"Dat tastes good"

A few Saturdays ago it was our first weekend in town for a long time and we were just hnaging out when I decided to go get some pudding for painting. I'd been wanting to do this all summer and just hadn't gotten around to it and I finally had time! We started with Vanilla that I had tinted red, blue and yellow. She started out just barely touching the pudding and tried to convince me she should use a brush or the spoon! It didn't take long before she was using her whole hand, and then both hands! She was very carefull not to get any on her feet or legs! When she played in the chocolate pudding we pretended it was mud and I drew different animals in it to tell her the story of Mrs. Wishy Washy. She liked "erasing them" as she said "wishy washy wishy washy". It wasn't until the end that she discovere dshe could eat it! I finally said "Delaney lick your finger!" "She looked at me as if to say " Mom, my whole life you have given me paint and told me not to put it in my mouth... are you trying to trick me?" So I licked my finger and then she believed me! It was a lot of fun, messy, but we survived and we'll do it again soon!

Subdivision Party

B. Delaney and G. having fun in the sandbox.
The kids chowing down on hot dogs and chips.
One neighbor brough over a huge box of gigantic cupcakes...
well they were gigantic for these little hands! G. was covered in that purple icing when he was finished!
I only let D choose boots or Dora, she go White icing no matter what!

Coloring by the campfire and enjoying some juice.

Last weekend some friends from the subdivision had another little get together. Smaller this time than last but still a lot of fun. The kids had a blast running around and playing together. G. is Delaney's age, but Delaney wanted to follow around B. She'll learn eventually. The day of the party th ehigh was only 73 degrees.... in July- crazy! As the sun started to get lower it got cooler and cooler outside and I was rumaging through Delaney's clothes trying to find some warmer clothes that would still fit her. I think she's grown 3 inches in the last few months! Anyways we pulled together something and we all had fun. I don't know why I never take pictures of the adults.... the guys enjoyed some washers while the ladies chit chatted.... all in all a good night. Thanks to K. and M. for hosting!

The Arch- the outside anyways....

Saturday the weather here was very unusual for this time of year. The high was only supposed to be 73 degrees and there was a cool breeze blowing. We have been wanting to take Delaney up in the Arch and decided Saturday would be a great day to go...... apparently we think like everyone else...people are still in St.Louis from the All Star Game... or there was some kind of special event going on... maybe all of the above but the line was over 2 hours long to go up in the arch! We said thanks but no thanks! We took Delaney up real close to see the arch and touch it... she was pretty excited until some man came walking by not paying attention (and at that same moment I had scooted back to take her picture) he knockd her over, then stepped on her..... hardly said he was worry and she was in hysterics. It took us awhile to get her feeling better and then she liked the arch again! We walked over to the landing and had lunch outside (both delaney and I need our sweaters in the shade). Then my little model posed for me without me really asking! It was a fun day! Maybe next time we'll actually get to go up in the Arch!

At City Garden
She had so much fun running back and forth.
Timid at first but got soaking wet by the end!

We have had some busy days her in St. Louis with all the All Star Festivities going on! My Dad aka The General got some great tickets so the boys went to most of the games. Mom aka MiMi was so nice to let Jer have her ticket for the All Star Game and the Futures and Celebrity Softball game. We all had tickets to check out FanFest. Delaney liked seeing the big giant baseballs, hitting the ball on the tee and running to steal home with Daddy. She got a Cardinal's Baloon that she is still running through the house with 2 days later! Mimi, Uncle Alex, Delaney and I went to the Players parade before the big game too. We had a man who I nicknamed "the brick wall" who was right in front of us and he was so tall and big.... he could have stood behind us as seen just as well! He also liked to call the players by nicknames like he knew them! Oh well! We could see most of the parade! We walked around downtown, had a late lunch then dropped Alex off to the boys for the game. Delaney loved the comotion of downtown and all the "baseball cardinals" everywhere. We even happened upon a bubble machine! With only a 45ish minute nap I was surprised at how well Delaney did the entire day! On the way back to the car we stopped at the new City Garden. It was a really nice little place! I let Delaney take off her shoes and run through the water fountains with the other kids and she had a blast. She didn't want to leave until she heard another little kid mention ice cream then she said "Ice cream for Laney too?" so I told her if she got out of the water we could get some... and we did. I really enjoyed getting to be a part of the action.... you don't know how long it will be until our city gets to host again!
