Just a Little Snow!

Trying to catch a snowflake on my tongue!
so silly!

Running in the "snow"
"Look mom, a snowflake on my glove"
"Where is is coming from?"

Today when we woke up there was just a dusting of snow on the grass so we had to go outside and explore! It was melting just about as quickly as it was falling so no real snow to play in. Delaney enjoyed looking up and watching the snowflakes fall. She liked picking up leaves that had snow on them too. I just had to show her how to try to catch the snowflakes on her glove... and on her tongue! We sang "If all the snowflakes were candy canes and cupcakes oh what a snow it would be..... standing outside with my mouth open wide.... ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah.. that's the snowfall for me!" She thought is was quite hilarious! I'm looking forward to the first real snow of the year so we can build a snowGIRL and go sledding.... but this was a fun start!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We have so much to be thankful for once again this year. Most importantly for our family and friends and that they are healthy and safe! Jerry and I are very thankful for our beautiful, smart and happy baby girl and I am sure she is thankful for us... and all of you!

Delaney enjoyed watching parts of the parade but it worked better to DVR it and fast forward through the commercials and talking. She loved the marching bands and had to dance along with all the cheerleaders and dance teams. The highlight of course was seeing.... nope not Santa.... ELMO! She must have shouted his name a thousand times in the two minutes he was on the tv! The Abby Cadabby ballon was also exciting. She did like seeing Santa at the end too!

Delaney also had a good time playing with her Mayflower ship, pilgrims and indians. Her cousin Brynn was so sweet about playing with her and her cousin Lauren even got in on playing babies! It was great that she was entertained! She enjoyed her turkey, corn, roll and mashed potatoes. It seems as though the cranberry sauce will still only be eaten by my Papa and I, as Delaney spit hers back out! Maybe next year?

We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Delaney said "BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"
Delaney said "Woah!" as Jer drove by on the lawn mower.

Delaney said "ugh I can't do it" while trying to climb the stairs in her million layers of clothes.
Delaney said "Hi!" as she opened and closed the door of the play house.

We thought it was cold last weekend when we bundled Delaney up to play outside in the leaves... well this weekend is proving to be colder! Delaney doesn't care that it is cold outside she still wants to go out and play. So.. we bundle her up and take her out for little short periods of time and she is so happy! I caught some great expressions last weekend so here ya go!

15 Months- 100% Toddler

Dancing Queen!Walking.. away from us of course!
Pointing at the deer we saw on our walk.
Daddy throwing you up in the air! Pretty blue eyed girl!
Each morning this is how I find you... all your paci's in hand...
After I get you out of bed, you throw them all back in and we clap!
Giving Pooh a hug!
Hey- who turned out the lights?
Oh just a basket on my head!
Reading
Smashing carrots.

BUBBLES!
Sitting on the potty chair... just for fun!

Dear Delaney-

Tomorrow you will be 15 months old. These past few months I have often found myself thinking about you last year at this time. You were still so tiny then and we were amazed when you rolled over and smiled. Everyday now you amaze us with your words. We keep a list on the fridge of all your words and it seems as though we are adding one every day!

You are 100% Toddler hands down! You want to experiment, explore and do things by yourself. However you want us close by for encouragement, hugs and kisses. (and to pour you more milk!) You like to feed yourself, using spoons and forks.. and that gets messy! You like to throw your food off your tray (after smashing it of course). You want to walk the direction you WANT to walk and not the direction we NEED you to walk. You want to walk though and don't care for the stroller much these days! You can say the word milk and sign it, but you usually like to stand by the fridge and whine! You can sign more and you will sometimes but more often you like to reach and whine until we figure out what you want! We're ready for you to use your words that you know.. so go ahead and get started okay?
You continue to love The Little Gym and have sort of become part monkey! You love to climb, run and just be wild! You love adventure and surprises. You still love to push your babies around in strollers but now you are into feeding them as well... with bottles, spoons and play food... they get dinner too! You also have felt the need to hold then while you eat yourself! You have also grown more fondly of your Pooh Bear, dragging it around with you wherever you might go. Luckily for mommy and daddy it is still easily substituted with Mizzou Bear, Tigger, or a blanket. You love to dance and while we have caught this on video we cannot get it on the computer..but we will! You shake your shoulders, bounce, move your arms and nod your head. You seem to like old school Michael Jackson... you are your father's daughter! Well mommy like that old music too! The best part is you really dig the 80's music.. and you have leg warmers to dance in!
You still love to read ... even if part of the time you spend putting the book basket on your head! (see 100% toddler!) You love to point to the babies eyes, noses and mouths in your books. You also love to look for the cows in your books so you can make the cow sound... MOOO!
I could write about you all night long..but I will stop here as I know there will be more to share next month. Daddy and I are looking forward to your new accomplishments and sharing the Holiday season with you!
We love you baby girl!

Halloween Fun!

The bumble bee and Snow White eat up some yummy cookies.
Delaney paints her pumpkin.

This is what she did when I asked her to show me her pumpkin. Getting goldfish from Granny.
Her trick or treat ride!
Sticking out your tongue helps you concentrate when you are dancing with glow sticks!
Just a little hyper from eating a piece of candy corn, part of a sucker and a few bites of a 3 Muskateers.

We started the day by getting Delaney into her costume and heading to see Jer at work. His coworker Matt was going to have his daughter up at work as well. Kiera is about 4 weeks younger than Delaney so they had fun together. They of course halted all work that was being done as they wandered through the office together!

Next Jer joined us as we headed to visit my dad at work. Everyone enjoyed having a little bumblebee interupt their busy day. Delaney gave the General some kisses and played with everyones squishy balls form their desks!

We headed home to take a nap but Delaney had other plans... she slept in the car but wanted to have no part in nap taking once we got home. So I took her outside to paint her pumpkin. She enjoyed this so much! I had to pry the paintbrush from her hand to get her to stop. I see more art projects in our near future. Once inside and cleaned off she FINALLY took a nap!

We trick or treated with Ajdin for awhile then went to see some other friends in my parents subdivision. Granny gave Delaney little bags of goldfish and that was a hit. She loved picking out treats and putting them in her pumpkin, she also loved taking them out of the pumpkin!

The best part of the night was watching her dance with the glow sticks from the police officers. It was hilarious!

It was a great Halloween... hope your was full of treats and fun!
