Caden and Delaney on the lily pads.
yeah not the best picture... but you try to get them both looking at you!
Ah- This is the life!

This past week I went back to school... which is why this post is so late! Teaching Kindergarten keeps me pretty busy.. and now I also have a toddler to keep up with! Delaney and I enjoyed the last few days of summer vacation together the very best we could! We met Elizabeth, Caden and Hannah at the park to see the animals and play on the playground. We floated in the pool and played outside. Here are a few pictures of our last few days! I miss being home with her all day! I know she is having a great time at the sitter... this year she even gets to play with other kids close to her age. She loves those kids.. and she talks the whole way home... which I think means she is telling me all about her day!

Headbands and TuTu's

A friend of mine (Asha) makes awesome tutu's and headbands for little girls! If you are looking to find a reasonable priced tutu or headband for your little princess be sure to visit her at http://www.sweetpstutuboutique.blogspot.com/. They are just fabulous! Here is Delaney sporting her headband from Asha. Please ignore how dirty she is.. this was after dinner! And on a die note....I know her hair appears to be red in these but it is not.... so go visit Asha's site and see her adorable stuff!

One Year Photo Shoot

Here are the pictures from Delaney's One Year Photo Shoot. She was really good at the beginning... with the excpetion of not wanting to sit or stand still... but her happiness had deteriorated by the time we took the tutu pictures. All she wanted to do then was open the box, or pull the number one off the cake... and when we stopped her.. oh boy! I wasn't as happy with those... but I LOVE the one of her sitting on the stool and the one looking over her shoulder!
Which one is your favorite?

(she was all sticky from the watermelon eating)

The hood says "Delaney" can you see?

This past weekend we traveled across the state to the Soybean Festival! Our good friends Matt and Amber and their adorable little boys went with us! We borrowed a bigger car from my parents so we could get all 7 of us in.. including car seats, pack and plays, toys and luggage! We saw a parade, tractors (much to Hudson's excitement!) a farm (but not the kind with animals (very confusing to Hudson!) family and friends! We rode rides and ate yummy homegrown, home made food! We even got a little adult time Saturday night when Grandma and Grandpa watched all the (sleeping) kids while we went to the beer garden. There we enjoyed entertainment by a band called the Big Midgets...think total 80's hairband.. so funny! We had a lot of fun but it was time to come home on Sunday as the kids just hadn't had enough sleep! (so neither had the adults!) Thanks to Carmen and her family for the awesome fish fry! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for lodging us, feeding us and babysitting! We're looking forward to going again next year!

Our Little Monet

Deep concentration....
Smiling after she made a big long stroke...
"What if I use both brushes at the same time?"

Delaney recieved an art easel for her birthday and while the age said 3 and up.. we thought we'd give it a try! We wheeled it outside into the grass and set Delaney dressed in diaper only on a chair so she could reach. She did okay but she really got into it once I put the paper on the ground and sat her in the grass. She started to realize the paintbrush made dots when she hit the paper! She was a big mess but I think she had a lot of fun. We hung her very first painting on our fridge and everytime she walks past it she points and smiles (as if to say "Look I did that") I'm looking forward to more art projects as she gets old enough!

Delaney got so many wonderful things for her birthday. We spent most of the day Sunday taking things out of boxes and assembling them! She wanted everythign open at once and she wanted to play with everything at the same time... she was so excited she didn't know what to do first! I'm trying to get pictures of her playing with her new toys (and once fall comes... wearing her new clothes) Sorry the pics in our basement turn out terrible.. I guess it is the overhead lighting...anyways..These are just a few things Delaney got for her birthday.... more pics to come soon!

Saturday we celebrated Delaney's first birthday with a Luau! She had so much fun swimming, eating, opening presents and of course eating cake! We are so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family! This party could not have been a sucess without you! Delaney loved seeing all of her family and friends in one place! She let everyone pass her around, take her in the pool and play with her! She gave out a lot of kisses and hugs too! Today we unpacked all her new toys and clothes and assembled everything... Delaney was so excited and wanted to play with everything at once! I will post more pics of her playing with her new toys later! Just pics of the party for now.. enjoy! And.. thanks again to everyone for making Delaney feel so special!
