Spring Break- The Beach

We had a lot of fun playing on the beach in Florida. We made sure to coat Delaney from head to toe in sunscreen and we also kept a hat on her! She loved playing in the sand and didn't really try to eat it at all! She would pick it up and just watch it fall out of her hand. She wasn't so sure about the ocean.. she loved it from afar but when I took her in a bit... she started talking quite meanly to the waves crashing at her feet! She took great naps in her little tent on the beach... who doesn't love a nap on the beach with the ocean waves crashing nearby! These are just a few of the beach pics we took!

Spring Break- Plane Ride and Easter

Well we are back from a wonderful vacation week in Florida. I'm going to break the pictures into 3 parts.. Plane Ride and Easter, Beach and Baseball....so first off is Easter. Delaney woke up to find the bunny had left her a book and some eggs right in her pack and play. We put on her bunny ears and she started her egg hunt by scooting on her butt down the hall. She mostly liked to put the eggs in her mouth but she seemd excited about picking them up! It was a little rainy in Florida on Easter but we enjoyed the day anyways! (It was warm and rainy.. which beat being cold and rainy, or cold and snowy!) Next post- Beach!

The Park

Yesterday was such a beautiful day we had to get out and enjoy it while it lasted! The warm sunshine really felt good after the winter we've had. We took Delaney to the park because I figured she would be big enough for the swings. She got a total kick out of it and it was fun to watch her so we took some video for you to enjoy as well! I also took her down the slide and she played in the rocks a bit! (I thought I might prepare myself for the beach) We're looking forward to many more days playing at the park!

Welcome Hannah

Congrats to our very good friends E. and W. on the birth of their baby girl Hannah! She is perfect in everyway and she has been blessed with a wonderful family. Big brother Caden was excited to show off his baby sister! Delaney is looking forward to playing with Hannah when she gets bigger! (E. and I realized that Hannah and Delaney will be the same year in school and we are looking forward to dance classes and trips to the American Girl Museum in Chicago!) We're sending our best wishes to them as they settle into their family of four!

Today our beautiful baby girl is 7 months old. She is learning to do so many new things and she always brings a smile to our faces! I had a snow day today so I was able to do her 7 month photo shoot this morning. I took some Easter pics too but you'll have to wait for those! Delaney now says da da da all the time. She can also say ma ma, ba ba, wah wah, ya ya, and na na. She's making lots of other sounds too, in fact she is always talking! She loves to play peek a boo and bang her blocks together. Delaney can frame a pretty picture and she loves for us to cheer for her! Delaney's most recent and exciting accomplishment is getting up on her hands and knees and rocking.... looks like crawling is right around the corner. She rolls all over the place when she is playing on the floor and she is sitting up like a pro! Delaney likes to stand up and hold onto things and she is working on pulling up to a standing position. She had Chicken Noodle Dinner as her first taste of meat and she gobbled it right up! She is also enjoying teething biscuits and puffs (or cheerios). She is getting better at drinking from her sippy cup... she loves to drink water from her sippy cup! This month will be an exciting one as Delaney will be having her first St. Patrick's Day, her first Easter, her first plane ride and first trip to the beach! Happy 7 Months Delaney.. your first year is flying by!

Sunday we enjoyed the beautiful 78 degree weather by meeting Matt, Amber and Hudson at the Zoo. We got there early and left after lunch when it started to get really crowded! Delaney had a great time seeing the animals and playing with Hudson. Hudson was so sweet with Delaney, even trying to share his fruit snacks with "Baby Laney". Sorry for the picture overload but I couldn't choose just a few!

Today we got to visit with Dana and Steph! Dana was in town for an interview (we're keeping our fingers crossed) and everytime she's in town we all try to get together. We had lunch at The Pasta House and Delaney behaved very well until she grabbed my (mostly empty) soda cup and knocked it over! Delaney loved all the attention she got from Dana and Steph! Dana and I have been friends since 6th grade and Steph and I have been friends since 9th grade. It's always a good time when we get together! Hopefully Dana will get a job here and our get togethers won't have to be so seldom!
