Happy Halloween

Our adorable little lamb
Happy little lamb

Mary had a little lamb it's fleece was white as snow. Everywhere that Mary went the lamb was sure to go. It followed her to school one day which was against the rule. It made the children laugh and play to see a lamb at school.

We had a great time with Delaney on her first Halloween. My mom made her a little lamb costume and it turned out soooo cute! Mom brought her up to school for the parade and party. I dressed up as Mary (that costume is from when I was in "The Music Man" in high school) and Delaney was my lamb... that followed me to school! She definately made the children laugh and play... she was the hit of the parade! She loved all the comotion and the children in their costumes. It was an exhausting day for mommy as I had to survive 2 kindergarten Halloween parties.... and then trick or treating with Delaney tonight! Apparently it was exhausting for Delaney too.. because she hit the hay as soon as we got home! We hope you all had a fun and candy filled Halloween! Not too many trick or treaters at our house... so we have plenty of candy for ourselves!

Delaney- finally awake and smiling when we got home!

Today we met Amber, Matt and Hudson out at a winery for some fall fun. Delaney wasn't in a great mood and she actually slept most of the time...but Hudson kept us all entertained. He just LOVES "Baby Laney". I love the way he looks at her! He held her for a few minutes and when she started to squirm he said "Mommy's turn." too cute! I go back to work tomorrow and I couldn't have thought up a better way to spend my last day. A little chilly but not a cloud in sight, wine and yummy food.... and we were with our best friends! Wish me luck tomorrow!

Our Little Pumpkin

We received this pumpkin as a baby shower gift and I just couldn't resist putting Delaney inside of it! I figured it was cleaner than putting her inside a real pumpkin. She actually thought it was quite amusing herself. The bottom picture shows what the pumpkin is supposed to be used for. It's pretty cool that the smile says her name.

Rolling Over

Delaney has been rolling from her tummy to her back for about 3 weeks now. However at first she wasn't too good at it and often got stuck on her side. I used my digitial camera that has sound but the lighting is pretty bad in her room. It takes forever to upload videos from our video camera....So I also included some still pictures... you get the idea.

Favorite Things

Watching Baby Einstein DVD and laughing!

Whoa.. what is that?

I had to show this one of her princess pants.

Watching the visual development toy (shown above) Sitting in her Bebe Pod and playing with her flowers. The mobile... I added black , white and red images for more age appropriate entertainment.
Delaney is starting to love some of her toys and gadgets so I thought I'd try to capture some of her facial expressions. Her favorite toys as of now are her playmat, my keys, her visual development toy, her light up music playing flowers, her Baby Einstein DVD and her mobile that I altered. It is so fun to watch her interact with her first toys. Of course her absolute favorite things are still Mom and Dad. We'll do anything to make her smile and laugh!

Dawn and Delaney with Kat.

Friday afternoon we headed up to Columbia for MU homecoming festivities. Friday night we walked around greek town to look at the House Decorations. (they are basically giant puppet shows with lights and music) Delaney loved all the commotion and everyone loved her! Saturday morning we went to the parade and Delaney LOVED the marching bands! The music and flags..oh boy she was all smiles and giggles. We got all dressed in MU gear and headed out to tailgate before the game and to take some pictures on campus. Kat was so nice to let us stay with her and we had so much fun spending time with her! Next year at homecoming Delaney will be running around shaking pom poms......

Photo Session Fun

I just love taking pictures of Delaney. I should take a class to learn more about photography and get a good camera... until then here are some more amateur pics of our big blue eyed cutie. Delaney's baptism is Sunday so I took a few of her in her dress. It's a little big... but she looked like a doll!!!! The last pic is of Delaney with our pumpkins at home... kinda falling over... but hey... she smiled!

Pumpkin Patch

Our little family

Delaney and Daddy
Not smiling... but at least she isn't crying!
There's a smile!

What is this thing? This is so not cool mom...
All worn out.
Hey I was sleeping.. why'd you take away my paci.... This weekend we spent some time at Eckert's and Stuckmeyer's. I wanted to get some good pictures of Delaney with the pumpkins.... well she had other plans. On Saturday we went to Eckert's and Delaney was not in the best mood... and she refused to smile for us... then she fell alseep. It turns out we forgot the memory stick for the camera so we has to take pics with our phone.... We ate some succotash and picked a good pumpkin though. On Sunday she woke up in a great mood so we hurried up and got ready to take her to Stuckmeyer's. She still didn't smile much... but she was more cooperative and we got a bale of straw, some cornstalks and another pumpkin. I can't believe Halloween is only two weeks away!

Catching up with the PRINCESS

The reflux bed...

Lifting her head way up to look at her black, white and red book.

It just mesmerizes her!

Talking on the phone... I swear I didn't pose this one!

talk talk talk... and SMILE

Sucking on her thumb... aw (so she kinda pulled it out when I took the pic... )

All bundled up for a walk...

Here are some updates on our little Princess Delaney....

Most of you who talk with us regularly know about our struggle with Delaney's GERD (reflux). Basically she screams when she has to eat and flat out refuses to drink at all! She also projectile spit ups often....We have tried several different formulas and medications trying to get her feeling better. Starting with Mylanta... moving to Zantac and now Prevacid. We have also tried adding rice cereal to her formula to help keep it down and now we are trying a lacto free formula. A teacher at my school mentioned her daughter had severe reflux and they had a "reflux bed" that worked well and we could use. Last night Delaney slept so well on it.... I hope we find a fix for this soon... until then she'll be sleeping on the giant wedge....

Also I made up a book for Delaney of black, white and red images... those are the colors she sees best now... and the high contrast really gets her attention. We like to prop the book in front of her to encourage her to lift her head up.. she's doing a great job. I also made the images to stick on to her preexisting mobile... she loves to watch that now too.

She is able to hold on tight to things now... like my hair.... and her toys... she loves her phone rattle... and puts it right up to her ear like she knows what she is doing.. she must be watching mommy!

Delaney Grace has also recently been able to get her thumb in her mouth and keep it there... before it would always fly out before she barely began to suck on it. As much as she loves her Nordstrum paci's I can see a future thumb sucker here....

GO MIZZOU!

We spent the weekend in Jer's hometown visiting with his family. Saturday night we cheered on the Mizzou Tigers as they played Nebraska... and WON! Delaney helped cheer them on in her MU cheerleading outfit from her Aunt Katina. She looked adorable and we had a great time visiting!
