Two Buddies Rockin' Out

Alex and Dad were jammin on their guitars yesterday and it was just too cute! Alex saved up his own money to buy an electric guitar this spring. Since then he has been using a DVD to learn to play. And now that my Dad is feeling better.... he is helping Alex some too. My dad has always enjoyed playing the guitar and one of my favorite pastimes as a child was sitting at his feet (or in his guitar case) as he played. I learned to sing a lot of good music that way. I think Dad loves that Alex has taken interest in guitar.. but we could all do wthout the amp sometimes! Speaking of Dad... he is getting along great now... just using a cane.. and he says in two weeks he won't need the cane at all! He'll start some oral medication from the oncologist to make sure the cancer is all gone. We just hope his body reacts okay to that medicine. And for now.... we all atill wait anxiously for baby Delaney!

Trip to St. Genevieve

Saturday Jer and I took a trip down to St. Genevieve Missouri... a little historic French village south of St. Louis. I hadn't been there since we went on a field trip there in 8th grade. Jer and I have been trying to find things to occupy our time until Delaney arrives and it just sounded fun. I borrowed these pics from the web because I didn't take any pics, but the first one is the Bolduc House build of vertical log construction in 1770... it's a museum now. The second pic is of the Old Brick House. It was the first brick building built west of the Mississippi River. We had lunch here... fried chicken, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and rolls... it was neat to be in such an old establishment. After we ate we ventured into a shop called Sweet Things and we had a blast picking out old fashioned candy.. and some new stuff too (Jer had to get Fun Dip) We picked out things to take back to the fam then headed to Sara's Ice Cream and Antiques. Nothing wrong with antiques.. but I was there for the ice cream.. and boy was it yummy! I had a huge banana split that I got to customize! mmmmmmmmmmmmm I tell ya! It's a neat little histric village if you like that sort of thing. We didn't stay too long though as we wanted to get back in time to listen to the Cards game by the pool... too bad it was a butt kicking! Oh well.. a fun day nonetheless.

Not yet....if ever it seems

Well my ultrasound went well yesterday but she is getting harder to see because she is getting so big! They estimated about 7lbs 9oz already! I still have a little over 2 weeks to my due date! Apparently I fed this kid well! I asked my doctor today and she did say she is getting bigger and if I haven't had her by August 1st she will induce me. That doesn't sound soon enough to me! I asked her just to induce me now and she said she couldn't and if she did I'd be in labor for 2 days. Nobody wants that! She's going to be out of town next week and as much as I want Delaney here I'd really like my own doctor to be there! Doc thinks this baby wants to be an Augst baby. Seeing as that disappointed me I cried the entire way home and then cried myself to sleep. (blame the hormones) I know it is normal to not have her early but I am so scared she is going to be too big she'll get stuck and I'll have a C-section... not my choice as I am apprehensive about this whole labor thing to begin with. Then there's the whole fact that I just can't wait any longer. I want my baby girl here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so tired of waiting. Now.. what do I do for 2 weeks to keep my mind off of it? Harry Potter comes out Saturday but I'll have that read in 2 days! I'm not too happy today. :(

I'm HUGE!

So this is not an attractive picture by all means.... and I had just gotten home from swimming so I didn't even try to include my head! But.. everyone has been dying for a recent pic of just how huge I am... so here ya go! This shirt does my tummy truthful... I really am that large and feel that large! There is no way my belly skin can stretch any farther! Newest development in the pregnancy saga... I think Delaney was resting on my sciatic nerve or something which was sending sharp shooting pains down my butt cheek and leg! ow is right it kept me up all Saturday night. My ultrasound got moved to Tuesday so I'll hopefully have pics or at least measurements to share tomorrow. Doc on Wednesday and I am praying she just tells me to stay at the hospital! Ha! I know... there I go dreaming again. Thanks for the suggestions on getting Delaney here early.. I've been working on them!

Doctor says soon....

I had a doctor appointment today and it went very well. She says baby girl is down low and all lined up ready to go! She said maybe by the end of next week or early the week after! She told me to go jump on a trampoline or try any other methods of jump starting labor I had heard of. Which made me curious... what have you heard? I'm willing to try anything.. so give me some ideas and we'll find out if it works! I also get one more U/S on fiday to get some measurments on Delaney Grace! YEAH! So let's get this baby on her way......

I've Officially Had Enough

Okay.. I think I've been a good pregnant person until now. I didn't complain much and I actually enjoyed carrying my little girl around, feeling her kick and move about. Now.. with less than 4 weeks to go.... I've had enough. I can't sleep at night because no position is comfy... even my maternity clothes are too small.... the 24 hours a day 7 days a week backache is taking over my life... and my sweet baby girl loves to kick me in the ribs.. and I mean hard! I am ready to be holding Delaney Grace in my arms and not my belly. I'm not sure I'll survive another 4 weeks.. so lets hope this little girl gets on her way soon! Okay... I'm off to find an ice pack or heating pad....

Couples Shower and Dad's Home!

On Saturday night my parents friends from the subdivision had a couples baby shower for Jer and I. We were all sad that Dad couldn't join us... but he told everyone to have a Budweiser for him. We had a lot of fun... eating yummy food, playing games and opening presents. One game the guys played was to choose a player and that player had to race the other teams player by sucking juice from a baby bottle. Jer was obviously chosen from his team! Both guys ended up cheating and taking the lid off and chugging it.. leave it to boys! A game the girls played was to guess how big around I was with toilet paper... then they tried it on me.... everyone thought I was a least 3 squares bigger than I am! Oh well! Fun was had by all!

Sunday we got the great news that Dad would be coming home!!!!!! We were so excited for him to come home to his own house... no more hospital! He has a nurse and physical therapist coming to the house everyday for awhile. He is walking with the walker and doing pretty good so far. It will take awhile for his muscles in his hip and upper leg to do what his brain tells them to do... but slow steady progres sis being made. My Granny wanted to help so she came over and made dinner last night. The kids requested Chicken and Dumplings and Dad requested Fried Chicken.. and because Granny likes making everyone happy... she made both! Along with her infamous bisquits! YUMMY! We're so happy Dad is home and on his way to recovery!
