This weekend we headed to St. Joseph MO. to attend my friend Carmen's wedding. Carmen is kinda how Jerry and I met.. so she's always been a good friend. Very thankful I didn't have to be in this wedding.. don't get me wrong being in weddings is fun... just not when you almost 8 months preggo! The bridesmaid dresses were awesome and Carmen looked gorgeous. She made everything herself from the little gift boxes at the table to the programs... it was all very trendy and so Carmen! It was good to see all the girls from Mizzou... and I didn't get a pic of all of us... but Maggie did so I'll post it when she sends it to me. Jenn and Maggie live in Colorado now... Micaela lives in Kansas City, Carmen lives in Cameron (yeah small town near St. Joe... she teaches agriculture!) and Susan, Avril, Amber and I live here.... but we don't all get together as often as we'd like. A fun time was had by all.. and I once again enjoyed drinking kiddie coctails and water! Only to months to go but I'll save that for another post!

Class Plays

My first graders performed their plays yesterday. They did a great job! Everybody knew their lines and even though they didn't speak quite loud enough... I was proud of them. The first picture is when Spiderella is talking to her Fairy Godmoth about going to the Bug Ball. The second picture is the prince trying to get Rafunzel to marry him. Then we have the cast of Spiderella and finally the cast of Rafunzel. They constructed their costumes all on their own.. well with the parents help of course! Only 2 days left of school! Will we make it?

Little Buddy's Baseball Game

Jer and I went to my little buddy's baseball game last night. I can't believe how old Alex is getting. He will be 12 this summer and he is going to middle school next year. I recently had a dream that he was one year old again.... boy has the time flown by! He'll always be my little buddy but very soon he will be taller and bigger than me! He played a great game with an awesome hit he got a double on! He loves baseball and loved that Jer and I came to his game. The even won! He didn't really want me taking his picture (so not cool) so I had to sneak one from the back... what a cool dude! He is excited to be an uncle and teach his niece all the sports he knows! Funny thing is.. he'll be closer in age to his niece than I am to him!

Super Spirit Festival

Saturday was Lindbergh's Spirit Festival and this years theme was Super Spirit (as in superheros). I am our school's student council sponsor and we were in charge of the float. The kids all came up with great ideas but the one that got the most votes was to have our mascot Lindy the Lion flying wearing a cape. At first I had no idea how to make their vision come alive, but little by little it came together. I had some awesome parents that helped out but the kids did most of the work and I was so proud of them. I didn't take any pics of the whole float, but Lindy was the main attraction. Considering he started out as a blow up monkey.... I think we did well turning him into a lion! It was a gorgeous day and we had a lot of fun. I am glad it is over as the float was consuming my life! Only 5 days of school left.. so here we go!

Carmen's Bachlorette Party

A few weekends ago we traveled to Kansas City for my friend Carmen's bachlorette party. It was a long late night for yours truly (being 6 1/2 months preggo and all) but fun was had by all. There are a lot mor epics but just not appropriate for my blog.. so here are two decent ones. The first is the whole crew in front of the limo and the second is Carmen doing a shot from her diamond ring shot glass Amber and I gave her. It was great to see all the girls from college.. I only wish I could have "celebrated" with champagne instead of water! Carmen gets married on May 26th so I'll have more pics then. As for this past weekend Jerry's younger sister got married... but since I was a bridesmaid I didn't take any pictures and I'll have to wait to get copies from Jerry's mom.
