Kelly Clarkson Concert

" Hey Hey Hey Hey... Just Walk Away!"
Last Monday night I had the lucky opportunity to attend the Kelly Clarkson concert! My ten year old cousin Gabbi (on the left) invited me to go with her. Jaci (Gab's mom) made the girls Kelly t-shirts.. they looked so cute! We danced and sang the whole time. I think I enjoyed the concert as much as the girls did if not more. The concert goers were mostly 5-18 year old girls and their moms.. but that sure didn't matter to me. Gab and her friend Ally were very impressed that I was an adult but I knew all the words! What can I say.. I'm a kid at heart! Here is a pic of Gabbi and Ally posing for me in their Kelly shirts!

Kamp Kanakuk

Okay so I said I would post pictures of the storm damage but I was without electricity for 4 days so I gave up and moved on. Here is a picture of Alex at "Kamp Kanakuk" on the slip and slide thing. It is a Christian based sports camp at Table Rock Lake. He left last Thursday night and will come back next Monday. We haven't heard from him but the camp posts pictures of the kids and if you have the password you can view them.... so from the looks of this picture we think he is having a good time. We can send him emails but he can only write us letters.... so there is a very good chance he may not write to us at all! He was so excited to leave last week and said he wasn't nervous at all. I have to give the kid props... he just turned 11.. doesn't know a single person at this camp and he'll be gone for 11 days! I actually miss the little guy. My Mom doesn't know what to do with herself. This is the first time in 27 years that she hasn't had to cart kids around from pace to place and make sure they take showers and brush teeth..... I made sure she'd have something to do though.. she's sewing me chair back pockets for my classroom. She rocks. If Alex makes the pictures again this week I'll be sure to post. I just can't believe my little guy is big enough to go away for so long by himself! I am counting down the days till he comes home and I get to hear all about it!

I Want a Water Turtle

I really want a water turtle! It would be a fun classroom pet for my first graders. Two people have told me that little red eared sliders or yellow bellied sliders are easy to care for. One person has told me "don't do it!" I'm not sure what to do! This turtle was at Table Rock Lake last year and we fed him.. and named him Squirt!

Happy Belated Birthday Alex

I promised a picture of Alex for his birthday... I'm not going to post all 11 birthday pictures but here is the day he came home from the hospital and his first birthday. He was such a doll.. and for all of you who knew him then... can you believe he is 11? Happy Birthday little buddy!

Anniversary at the Card's Game

As I mentioned before Jerry and I spent our 3rd wedding anniversary at the Cardinal's game. Oh what a game it turned out to be. They finally broke their eight game losing streak and it was a high excitement ending game. We went over to sit by my family at the end ... since it was Alex's 11th birthday. Mom took some cute pics so I thought I'd share some.

Aw! Happy Annversary and Go Cards! This is right before the excitment began!

Everyone was using the seat cushions to clap together and make a ton of noise!

I love how Andy and I both had the same reaction to the win! Arms up!

After the Cards won, people stopped using the seat cushions to clap and began throwing them out on the field. It looked like giant confetti. Here you can see one flying right towards Jeff's head! They were all over the field! You can also see the players all coming out to hug each other!

Here are the boys after the win... Jerry, Alex and Andy
