First day of Preschool!
What a big girl!
Carrying her bag and flowers for her teacher.
Posing in front of the red doors!
Delaney and her Greenbird teacher, Mrs. Koenig.
Delaney and some of her classmates listening to their teacher.
Delaney's first art work from school...
When she showed us the bird picture she told us that Mrs. Koenig said ... "no puddles"

Painting at school must be pretty exciting for Delaney! She loved painting her D and told us all about the other kids and the letters that they painted for their names.

It's hard to believe that my baby girl is old enough to go to school... but I didn't cry when I dropped her off...and neither did she! I didn't really expect her to give us any trouble... she's been going to in home daycare since she was 3 months old and she's been super excited about starting school. Some of her friends at daycare started preschool a few weeks before she did so hearing them talk about it got her all prepared! She hugged and kissed us goodbye and went right in to her classroom. Jerry and I anxiously awaited 11:30 when we would go back to get her and hear all about her first day. She had so much to tell us! She told us about the art she had done, who she played with (Ella) and how she had gone to music. She even remembered her music teacher's name and the songs they had sung! She loved painting and playing on the playground! She was excited to go back on Thursday for another fun filled day!

Out of storage space...?

Google is confusing me... it says I am out of photo storage and can no longer upload pics to my blog.... unless I purchase more storage space.. what? I have to decide what to do about that... I think my best option is to set up a new google account and a new blog... so stay tuned... you might get a new email invite.... thanks for your patience!

With her class
Waiting to sing!

The Greenbirds and Mrs. Koenig

The kids at the playdate party... it's not easy getting that many of them in one shot!

Playing with balloons was a hit!

Decorating cucakes was so much fun...

took lots of concentration...

but it was worth all the hard work.. they were delicious!

Going Private

I know I haven't updated the blog in forever.. things have been a little busy here with the arrival of our sweet baby boy. I've been meaning to get on here and do this forever but just haven't had the time. Our family blog will be going private in a just a few days. Please email me at dawnieboo@hotmail.com if you are a reader of the blog and want to keep reading once it goes private. I will send an email invite to you and you can set up your own password so you will be able to view our blog. I know it'll be a little more work on your end, but in this day and age I need to make sure my kiddos and family are safe. After the blog goes provate I will update with TONS of pictures so be ready!

Thanks!

Hauling the giant bag of "cop corn"
Playing with Madelyne in the sandbox.
Showing off her "country girl" side... She danced (walked on and crawled )up and down those hay bales forever!
Checking out the apple she's about to pick!
Taking it all in
With her apple on the tractor ride back!
Her picture of Johnny Appleseed she colored at school (and finished at Mimi's house) I think that's better coloring than half the kids in my kindergarten class and I'm not joking!
Apple Tree Picture, good job stayin in the lines with your dobbers Lulu!

Jerry and I both had the opportunity to attend Delaney's first field trip with her preschool class. We went to Eckerts on a very hot day for late September! It didn't matter to Delaney... she had a great time picking and eating apples and playing with her friends! I made her outfit especially for her field trip and had so much fun putting it together... and she loved showing it off! We had a lot of fun but we were worn out by noon! I'm so glad we got to go on her field trip with her! They finished up their apple theme on Thursday and she came home talking all about Johnny Appleseed! It's so fun to hear all about her special days at preschool. I'm so happy she is enjoying it so much! Next Tuesday she is the helper... so she gets to bring show and tell... she has decided to bring her Dorothy Barbie Doll. She wants to show the kids how Dorothy sings when you push the button. I have no doubt she'll tell them much much more as well!

Dancing Queen

Delaney and Maya so happy after dance class!
Listening and learning to tap!
Maya, Delaney and Gavin
Maya and Delaney before class!
Delaney had a big day September 14th! She attended her first day of preschool and started dance class with her friend Maya. In this dance class she gets to do tap and ballet and they will do a recital in the spring. Delaney is very into tap dancing (because Annie tap dances in the movie at the end!) She loved going shopping for new leotards! Mimi took Delaney shopping for her dance shoes and although she was uncooperative at the time.. you'd never know it now.. she loves putting those shoes on and dancing around the house! Last spring in dance class Delaney didn't participate much and waited until she was home from class to show off what she had learned (but had not done during class)! This time around... what a difference! She listened to the teacher and tried very hard to do what the teacher showed them to do. She came home and showed off her skills and was excited to go back the next week! She's already asking about when she gets to dance on a stage and wear a costume! Look out Broadway!

Playdate Birthday Party

Delaney invited her playdate friends over for a little swimming party at Mimi and General's pool. It was a busy time of year so not everbody could come but Delaney had a great time swimming with her friends. They swam, decorated party hats ate lunch and enjoyed the rainbow cupcakes! We are so lucky to have such good friends! It was a fun day!

Well thanks to our wonderful friends and family Delaney had a great birthday celebration! She had originally picked a Dorothy and Annie theme but we narrowed it down to just Dorothy. It wasn't easy but I found ways to make her theme happen! Mimi and General were so nice to let us use their house.. more room and a pool for the kids (and adults) to swim and cool off in. Having a birthday the first week in August pretty much guarantees that it will be hot and humid! Delaney partied hard with her friends and family and was so excited to try on her new clothes and play with her new toys the next day! Thanks so much for celebrating with her! She is one LOVED little girl!
