Pumpkins, Pumpkins

Posing for Mommy in front of the corn stalks.
She liked the pumpkins inside much better as they weren't dirty.

Clean pumpkins to sit on!
She was all about picking up the pumpkins in the field until she discovered they were dirty.
Painting her pumpkin. She picked blue to start with.
I finally convinced her to add some other colors.
This poor pumpkin has so many layers of paint on it... she could have painted all day!
Delaney was so not into touching the pumpkin guts... but what did I expect if she wouldn't even touch dirty pumpkins in the field at the patch right?
She liked watching Daddy clean out the pumpkin and eventually she decided to help him.
Concentrating on using that scoop... we wouldn't want the pumpkin guts to touch her hand now would we....

Gaining some confidence as she scooped out the pumpkin guts.
Still unsure about the whole idea....
Dancing around the finished pumpkin.
This thing was a pain! The walls of the pumpkin were so thick the little tool broke and try carving out letters with a steak knife! yikes!
Delaney is definately a little princess and proved that to us on our pumpkin patch trip, painting and carving activities this year. She woulnd't touch the dirty pumpkins, I had to wipe her hand each time she got paint on it and she was very skeptical about touching the pumpkin guts! I think she still had a good time with all the pumpkin activities!

A Visit With Mabel

Delaney and Mabel colored together.
They both really enjoyed the Bee puppet,
Delaney loved checking out of all Mabel's toys.
I think the Bee puppet was getting the baby....
I think Mabel was texting..."OMG" "LOL"
or she was updating her Facebook status "Mabel is playing with Delaney"
A hug! poor Mabel didn't know what to think of Delaney's hugs!

There is that Bee again.
The Bee is getting Mabel.
Oh how they loved that BEE!
Playing with the pegs.
Aw.... teamwork. (Meghan... maybe they will will the roomate challenge after all!)

Delaney loves "people" so it was so fun for her to play with different people!
Delaney also really enjoyed this hopping and singing bunny.
Mabel and delaney playing with the dollhouse.
Playing with the caterpillar,

Jerry and his girls!
We had so much fun on our visit to see Meghan, Aaron and sweet Mabel! We were so thankful for Meghan and Aaron's hospitality! It's hard to believe that Meghan and I have been friends for over 10 years now! It was so fun to see our little girls play together! They are just at the beginning stages of being interactive when they play. Mabel was so good about sharing her toys! I look forward to more visits with Meghan, Aaron and Mabel in the near future! It will be fun to see the girls grow up together! (Not that I am rushing them!) Thanks again Meghan, Aaron and Mabel! Especially for sending me the pictures... since I left my camera at home!

Magic House Fun

Building with Giant Blocks in the Curious George exhibit.

Pouring water (one of her favorite spots)

Scooping sand. (another favorite)

Crawling through the tunnel.

She was so proud of herself for walking across this "bridge"... "Look at me!"

A few weeks ago my school had an event at The Magic House. it's a great Children's Museum and it is constantly growing and gorwing with new exhibits all the time. Delaney has a blast everytime we go there and this time was no expection.... she even made it through the event without a diaper and no accidents! (Still not ready for that post yet.) It was a great time partially due to the fact that only my school was there so it wasn't crazy corwded as it can be most times we go. We had a fun family night out!

Apple Pickin'

Ready to pick some apples.

This one looks good.
"I can reach it!"

mmm!
She was very excited of see the camel.

Lovin' the airplane ride.

I LOVE the expression on her face as she watched the pigs race!

We had a great time apple picking this year. Delaney loved eating the apples as she picked them and she had fun on the rides! She also got a huge kick out of the pig races! She was so excited each time the pigs came mrunning around the track! She loved the Cloggers and she danced along as she ate her hot dog. We can't forget the mineshaft slide! She could have gone down that thing 100 times! It was a fun fall day in the country!

"I'm not a carrot!"

Just a quick cute story... no pictures sorry!

Tonight at dinner Delaney was being a parrot, repeating everything we said. Jer asked her if she was a parrot and she replied.... "No! I'm Not a carrot!" We burst into laughter! Then I asked "Does Polly want a cracker?" and she got all excited and exclaimed "YES!"

She's been so hilarious lately! I'm hoping to post soon about our adventure in potty training... not ready to jinx it just yet!

Delaney just LOVES her friend Maya!

Our friends invited us to come to a fundraiser for their school at Grants Farm. We went last year and it was a lot of fun... so of course we wanted to go again! In the car on the way to school we were talking about going and I was telling her who was going to be there. She remembered that Olivia had held her hand this summer at Susan park so she asked if she would hold her hand again. When I told her she probably would, she responded with" That would be great! in ten I told her that Maya and Gavin were going and her response ..."that would be REALLY great!" That cracked me up! Delaney loves seeing the animals, but I think she really enjoys being with her friends. ( I do t00!) The kids all had a good time! Delaney was a dancing fool until she wore herself out! Delaney and I sure have some great friends! Sorry the pics are in backwards order!

Birthday Thanks!

Me, Delaney, Dana, Steph and Kat

A few weeks ago I had a birthday... a big one... so my friends and family threw a big surprise party for me! It was a lot of fun but being a surprise I didn't take my camera and therefore do not have any pictures... apparently I am the only one who ever takes pictures! I had a blast visiting with everyone and drinking from my birthday glassses...eating my 80's candy, laughing at the cake and opening presents. I don't exactly like surprises... but I appreciated the party! Dana and Kat weren't able to make it to the party so Steph organized a brunch. We went to the boathouse in Forest Park and lucked out with beautiful fall like weather! Delaney was not being a very good little girl to start the meal but she settled in finally! It was a lot of fun!

Just wanted to say thank you for all my birthday celebrations! I've been writing thank yous, but with Delaney's birthday, and the start of school... I'm creeping along! I have such wonderful friends and family! I am such a lucky "old" lady!
